Cat Care part 2 First Week
Cats are by nature territorial, which means that having a place to call their own is extremely important to their emotional well-being. your cat or kitten will be in a state of stress right now taken away to a new strange place, and at that's time your goal will be is to keep them comfortable ASAP also known as as soon as possible.
When you bring a new cat or kitten home. Make sure you have a single room with food water and a littering place at least for the first few days. It is great kindness for your cat or kitten to allow and claim ownership of a small new territorial, at its own place without any competition.
Some shy cats or kittens may freak out and hide under your bed as long like a week . Or possibly more. Others will be to come out into the house and go exploring just for the day. The important thing is to let your cat emerge when it feel likes it. You should spend as much time in the room with your cat or kitten, but never try to force it out from hiding.
Try to keep children quiet and seated on these visits, so they don't frightened the cat or kitten if its not use to kids. The cat or kitten will let you know when its ready to come out to explore more of the house. Be sure to leave fresh food and water at all times, and check out that it is being consumed. Even stressed cat like to eat, so no food for 24 hours or more is possibly a sign of illness and warrants to a trip to the vet.

Cat care part 1 : Feeding
Things you should know before owning a cat/kitten one day I was helping my mum the other day and started think about my last years report, I was so behind on my writing because, I kept using then, and all the time. So I thought what can I find in my shop that I can write about. Near a counter I found a book about Cat-care ( I didn't copy out the book I used my own words in another way) .
Make sure that your cat or kitten can reach or accuses to food and freshwater. Cats are grazers by nature and much prefer snacks than having food or a good meal at right times.
Kittens should be fed kitten food until they are 9-10 months old, it contains extra nutrition needed for healthy growth. Eating adult cat food will not give pain or hurt your kitten, it will probably just eat more to get proper nutrition.
Elderly or very old cats should be given senior food, while these cat have weight problems they should be put on a calorie controlled lite diet. Cat's and kittens should be given fresh water in a solid straight bowl, even if it dose not drink out of it. Empty rinse and refill daily.
Cat's or Kittens don't need milk it will actually make them feel sick and it will actually prevent diarrhea or vomiting in some cats. Chocolate is poisonous to cats so be care full do not leave it in a place where it can go up to for a nibble on ( Make sure its hidden.
Chicken bones and fish bones should always be avoided forever because if your cat or kitten eat's it, it will cause serious damage, It can give splinters in its stomach and after when you will realized that you will have splinters in your heart so beware of that.

Drumming at assembly
This Friday was very special because we had two different types of drums set up on the stage, we first started off our Assembly with a karakia and mihi as always. After the awards and quiz were done, it was time for the performance.
There were two sets of drums one normal one and the other cook Island drums, For the cook Island drums there were 4 or 5 men and one woman for that It was shocking for me because whenever I see cook Island people play the cook Island drums its usually only men playing .
To start us off with the performance was a man named Brett Sargent, he came to our school I think for last year, he had his own set it looked cool especially the colors gold and black It was a fancy combination, it look like if it was just brought looking brand new. He then grabbed his sticks and was ready to rock, he went in a smooth beat then to a rock and roll playing it with hard work.
We cheered and clapped but it wasn't over yet it was the cook Island drummers turn I was excited they grabbed their sticks and ready it was smooth in two beats then show time the woman drummer hit the drum twice first because she was the bass, and the two men joined in and then the rest.
the drummers were amazing that everybody were entertained and were bopping to the beat. While they were playing some of the men were already breaking a sweat because it was thats good, playing the beat fast and controlled it can't be that easy, I was think and talking to myself wow it must of taken a lot practise to make it perfect.

Walking To School In The Cold
As I woke up in a freezing morning dawn, I uncovered myself with the blanket as I did that I felt the breeze brushing past my legs arms and hands. my hands started to turned blue, my arms and legs were covered with goose bumps.
While walking through my bedroom door I yawned very slowly and without any sound.
After that I had my shower and got changed into my uniform I checked the time it was 8:28 and ‘ OMG I still haven't had breakfast yet” I said, rushed I through my bedroom door grabbed my bag but stopped at the main door and opened it I took a step outside and I shivered.
I had no choice but to sprint to school, on the way i felt a huge breeze go fast it made my jacket flapped but then I heard thunder I tripped over and fell into the puddle it felt like this would take forever mud in face I was hungry also late “can this day get any worse.
Finally I was there it looked like i had just woke up as slowly opened the door Mrs Squires was sitting in her desk it was morning tea “Um hi ms sorry im late”
“Dhara why are you late explain now. I could tell she was furious with anger “Im sorry miss you don't know how difficult it was for me just to get to school “Well ok this time will be a warning but next time you're on detention “Okay Mrs thank you
i will always remember this.

Fiafia night
Ladies and Gentlemen put your hands together for 2014 Fiafia night, if you have no idea what Fiafia is well you're in luck, Fiafia night is a celebration we throw out once a year at night and before we come to school we first have rest then fresh up and by having a shower wearing clothes that you can easily take off and on, put on some fresh spray on our body and your ready to perform.
As I stepped in through the coro doors nothing was there, but when I went inside there was food stands everywhere, all lot of family’s had purchased 20 dollars to sell food it was crowded like if it was polyfest, while stepping in forward my mouth was watering, my stomach was growling loud, but I realised I wasn't allowed to eat meat but there was cupcake, so I eat that instead. My friends were there but my best friends weren't there just then I went back and waited for them.
I came with my brother and cousin I knew that they will be bored so I told them that they can buy something to eat if they wanted and they went off playing instead. After while finally my best friends came Mya, Sapphire and Ashlee. So we had and went to food stands and just stuffed our faces with food. Just then a call out was on it was Mr Burt he said this ‘Hello everyone I know you have had a lot of fun, but now it is time for all the performer to get changed in their changing room thank you".
Finishing off wearing my bracelet I felt comfortable inside the classroom but when I went outside I was freezing but just a little bit because I had my jacket on. When I was near the stage I had to take off my jacket and it was cold I shivered a lot. As it was time for my Bollywood group to perform I panicked but I took a huge breath in and went on stage in my position, then it began. During the performance when I looked and the audience it looked as if there was only one because all I saw was a tiny blue light on top of Mr Somerville.

Facts about Wetas ( article )
Wetas are creatures with six legs, but they are not ordinary legs because I thought that insects had no ears but this one does, a wetas ears are on their front knees, to feel the vibration what’s around them. Now that's crazy but that's how they are made .
When dinosaurs were in our world, the wetas were there too, thats amazing 2014 is the year we’re in and they are existing for 100 million year wow just image that your existing for 100 million year thats awesome. The Wetas were called dinosaurs when people were not there but they still existed until now.
Did you know that there are 60 species of cave-weta thats a lot of cave-wetas
they are mostly found in caves which is obvious, but they also usually found in dark places like under a house or logs. they hide in dark places because its safe for them but they need to keep a watch on other predators like rats. they can live up to seven years.

Poem About Myself
My name is Dhara
And I am 12
I hate sickness and glumness
But I love kittens and puppies
They are cute and cuddly
Instead of running I like games
During games they tease names
But that's how it is
So let mind our biz
And I am 12
I hate sickness and glumness
But I love kittens and puppies
They are cute and cuddly
Instead of running I like games
During games they tease names
But that's how it is
So let mind our biz

Kakapos
Kakapos are endangered birds, they are low parrots, they are endangered birds because when the first Maori settlers came to new Zealand the had no food and they were hundreds of Kakapos and then the Maori settler thought of eating the Kakapos since their were so many of them and just carried on eating them. Kakapos can live to be 95 years and above average, they are important species to New Zealand like kiwi birds as such. an interesting fact that Kakapos can climb trees, they are the worlds heaviest parrots of all time.
Kakapos are flightless, fight less and nocturnal. when Kakapos are on their diet all they eat is plants or plant berry's but normally they will fruits from Rimu trees and the seeds of the Manukau Kakapos live in forests they don't live in a trees they stay on the ground just like I said before Kakapos a flightless birds, Kakapos make their nest in smalls perfect holes for them. If a predator comes near by they will camouflage themselves because their feather are color in moss green, dark light brown and little white to combined in the forest or hide in their hole with absolute silence. here is a quote I found.
There are many ways to help the kakapo get removed from the critically endangered list. One way to do it could be supporting a worldwide or local conservation foundation that is already in New Zealand trying to increase the numbers of kakapo.
The Kakapo Recovery Team is a group of conservationists and volunteers that help make sure the remaining kakapo are healthy and ready for breeding. They do many things to improve kakapo including, regulated health checks, controlling the predators, feeding and hand raising.
This non-profit organization receives many donations and volunteers who are flown in to a conservation island to help the diminishing numbers of kakapo.
Another way you can help is simply by spreading awareness. Many people know that animals are becoming endangered but they aren't aware of the rate at which how fast it is happening. The rate of extinction is 4 species per hour and there is an unprecedented rate of endangered species. As of 2004, there are 15 589 species endangered which was an increase of 3300 since 2003. The kakapo could easily be one of those extinct if we, humans continue our harmful actions against the animals.

The Point England Way
Hello everyone today I am going to write about The Point England Way
Everyday when Pt England students come to this school we come with a positive mind, we have rules at our school but mostly it is especially based on the korero, (korero means to us is like a logo to us) last year our korero was about kia pai Te kotahi, (means better together). I think it’s best for everyone to follow the Point England Way, I think that way because most people would just ignore the rules and just would get in trouble then they will feel bad about themselves and think about why did they did that but some will just won’t care.
The Point England Way started in 2000-2001 it that is was made about 14 or 13 years ago, The Point England Way discovered by Mr Burt but to machine Mr Burt did not discover it by himself he did have help from a helpful teacher Miss Malaysia but she left which was very said but our teacher remember her as a legend and it is awesome that we have been carried on until 2014. This is a quote from Mr Burt that class 4 (which I am) had received ‘ The Point England Way ". “...means that it is our kawa of care, the way we do things so that we can be happy with another, safe, enjoy each others’ company, learn well and have a good time at school.”
At our school in each class we have a small TV (if you guy be thinking like ‘OMG they really watch TV that's so cool” well on that TV we all have we do not watch cartoons we actually watch Penn (Penn is short for Point England New News) penn is not a channel it is news, for our school like it tells us what is going to happen today, what sports are coming up for people who want to join in, and the weather and stuff like that and at Mrs Telea's there are a group of ambassadors, that make the news everyday it is a big job. every Friday our school has an assembly, and in that assembly we always have an new korero or the same one because some people just don’t get the word he is saying or explaining.
The reason we do this at our school is to get us ready for the future because if we wanted to buy something from your local shop then what will you say after been served? or after you have been saved from a dog chasing you what will you say ?, and most importantly our behavior and our attitude when something funny happens to a person and they don’t like it then don’t laugh if its a sad day for someone and they don’t like it then don’t laugh it just gets worse its better to do the right thing, and all these thing mean all to just one word RESPECT.
The thing that I have just said goes the same like the treaty of Waitangi the British people and the Maori people the British people made a treaty for the Maori people to sign just to bring peace and harmony in New Zealand. At Point England School we always have to your the three P’s the three P’s are protection participation and partnership.
Well I hope you learnt enough today take care.

Waitangi Treaty
Treaty of Waitangi
In the 1840s 174 years ago there was a treaty sign by the British people and the Maori people, it was an agreement trying to stop some of the problems that were happening in New Zealand.
One day Queen Victoria of England had instructed to William Hobson to have a treaty made in English translated into Maori in three months time. The day before Hobson had to present the treaty it didn't look like he was interested or cared because he hadn't even started writing it yet and didn't look like he was going to. It was finally translated from English to Maori just before all the Maori chiefs had gathered to discuss the treaty, if they should sign it or not.
The Treaty talked about Participation, Partnership and Protection for the Maori people. When they all gathered together to sign the treaty, the British thought that if they would sign the treaty, they would rule over NZ. The Maoris thought that if they would sign the treaty then they would have more trade and have peace. They also thought that British will control the settlers. Somehow they started trading and it became more peaceful. But as time came on the misunderstandings lead to war.
Once William Hobson had convinced the chiefs the treaty was sent around the country for 500 other chiefs to sign. Now it is 174 year old.

Three Facts About Me What I Do In My Shop
Hi everyone today it's the last day of school and next year I'm going to be a year 8 I'm not actually looking forward to be a year 8 it's just I don't want to go collage. be sides that I'm going to be talking about what I usually do in my shop.
* Fact number 1 Just to be honest I don't eat chocolate all the time, plus it makes my teeth dirty every Friday I always ask my parents before taking a chocolate bar ups stairs to make sure I mean I don't want to feel guilty not telling my parents what I have taken upstairs
* Fact number 2 I don't eat like a pig, just grabbing all the food that is in the shop for those people, who just keep telling me ' Hey do you eat all the food in the shop every time" No I don't eat all the food that is in the shop if I did I wouldn't be looking skinny now would I.
* Fact number 3 Yes I do help my parents when needed in the shop, because that's just being slack not helping your parents, and Just to be honest I enjoy it a little bit because instead of playing on my iPad and just sitting on the couch is really boring, so I'd rather help my parents than doing that.
And there you have it these are my three facts about me what I do in my shop so if anyone asks me the same question again I'm just gonna say 'check out my blog if you want to know" anyways thanks for checking my post.

My First Term At Room 19
Hello everyone my name is Dhara and today I'm going to be talking about my first term at room 19 it was the best term by far . . . .
At first Day of the term I was really shy, and anxious about the people and classmate I was going to meet and make, When I was in the class I saw my last years classmates, I was not expecting that ? but I was glad, as soon as I entered the classroom I was really wowed , it had alot of posters and pictures and facts that we will be needing in all our subject's.
To be honest I actually thought that my Teacher was going to be Mr Harris but he left, I was really excited who was going to be our new teacher, people kept saying it was going to be miss Tito, but I didn't know who that person was so I asked My friend Anamei "who is this teacher Miss Tito ?" then she replied ' yes Miss Tito is a really cool teacher, she really like to do cool stuff" I was really not expecting that but she turn out the teacher I had last year Mr Somerville she cool and awesome and does fun stuff.
So in the morning I was sitting and waiting in class, but our teacher didn't come so Mrs Nua from room 22 had to come just until Miss Tito comes back. So then Mrs Nua asked us to make a movie for Miss Tito just to make her feel welcomed, so I went in a with Anamei, Jorja, Andrea, Te rina's group so we made the movie and and all we had to do is just fix it, until and had to do final touch up. Just then she arrived with a huge smile on her face and yelled ' HI yes I'm back" then she came in and gave Mrs Nua kiss on the cheek , then they hugged which was really sweet.
The next day she spent most of her time knowing about us, how we can do stuff together, and she told us what her likes and dislikes they were funny and cool, after a while she got out a fake chicken out of her drawer, and asked the class 'who wants to play catch then chicken ?" Then we all said ' yes" and we went outside and played in the hot raise of the sun after playing that game we all came in sweating which was refreshing.
In week 2 on Monday my teacher made a stars then I asked her "what is that for ?" then she said 'it means that if you do something that is helpful that makes her happy, your name can go up on the board next to star, and by the end of the week on Friday you get to do something really cool and awesome" so then on Miss Tito made a checklist and asked us if we knew how to put in a tick in our checklist so some people knew but some didn't so she taught us all just in case if they get it wrong.
Week 3 so last week no one got on the stars but this week alot of people went on stars even I did, so then on Friday Miss Tito brought in clay and equipment the we will be needing, and we asked Miss Tito what are we making and she said Koau koau. Koau koau is made out of clay and it is shaped like an emu egg but it has got a main hole to blow in, and three to make music it's quite similar to a whistle once we made it, it was very difficult to make music with.
so then on we got have sleep-overs and got to eat pizza and did all those awesome things until term 2 thing started to get out of hand . . . .
