Tuakana/Teina (older/younger)

Tuakana Teina is when you read with your little brother or sister and your friends for example if you see someone struggling on their reading you can go and ask them if they need any help and if they said yes you can help them out sounding out a tricky word.

Memoir is the name of my Teina (younger student) she picked me because I don't bully her and I picked her because I know she's not that good at reading, so I try and make her do her best at all times!  On the first day we found a book and a comfy spot to read the book was the wheels on the bus I asked her "do you want to read this book?" and she replied "yes".

But did you know when you're supposed to say the wheels on the bus go round and round all day long then it was her turn to say it but she said the peals on the bus go round and round all day long and she said ''oooh no'' was that supposed to be wheels on the bus or peals ,I said yes it was so pose to be wheels then I started to laugh and we carried on reading the book ,after that funny story it was pack up time .

Every Tuesdays our class Room 19 have been reading with our little ones from room 9. My buddy is memoir she is very kind and always trying her best to sound out her words but sometimes she can't be bothered reading.
