About Matariki and a acrostic poem

Matariki is a special occasion for Maori people, Matariki is the name of the group of seven stars also known as the Pleiades star cluster, Matariki appears sometime around the shortest day of the year. What does Matariki mean it literally mean god of eyes it rises in mid year of May and the early June.

Is a group of seven star
Kites are for messages
It’s a Maori celebration
